At Equine Village, we are a small and dedicated team brought together by a shared love for horses, nature, and meaningful trail riding experiences. Each of us brings something unique — and together, we create the rhythm and soul of daily life on the trails.

Paula has been part of Equine Village from the very beginning. With more than 30 years of experience, she trains our horses and carefully maps out the trails used on every ride. Her calm presence, deep intuition with animals, and knowledge of Madeira’s terrain are central to everything we do.

Behind the scenes — but just as essential — are Andreia and Diogo, our devoted grooms who care for all the animals at Equine Village every day. Their dedication ensures that each horse, dog, and feathered friend is safe, healthy, and happy.

And of course, no introduction would be complete without the dogs. Maxi, Sulla, Superstar, Sammy, Rockstar, and Panzer often join the rides — not all at once, but in joyful rotation. Their presence adds an extra touch of magic to many trails. Paula is the one who takes them along, always knowing who’s ready for the next adventure.

1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of equestrian tourism services by Stormybrown – Unipessoal, Lda., hereinafter referred to as Equine Village, including horse riding tours, equestrian experiences, and any other related services as described on our official website.

2. Bookings and Payment

2.1. All bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of full payment.

2.2. All prices include VAT at the applicable legal rate.

2.3. Payment implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Cancellation and Changes by the Client

3.1. Equine Village does not provide cash refunds under any circumstances if the client cancels.

3.2. If cancellation is made in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled activity, a voucher of equal value will be issued. The voucher is valid for 2 years and is non-transferable.

3.3. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice or failure to attend (“no-show”) will not be compensated.

3.4. Changes to the booking date are subject to availability and must be requested at least 72 hours in advance. Approval is at the sole discretion of Equine Village.

4. Cancellation or Changes by Equine Village

4.1. Equine Village reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any activity in the event of adverse weather conditions, unavailability of horses or guides, or due to force majeure.

4.2. In such cases, the client will receive a voucher of equal value, valid for 2 years.

4.3. No cash refunds will be provided, except when required by a final court decision.

5. Liability and Safety

5.1. All activities follow high safety standards. However, due to the nature of horse riding, the client acknowledges and accepts the risks involved.

5.2. Equine Village shall not be held responsible for any accidents resulting from failure to follow guide instructions or from negligent behaviour.

5.3. Wearing a safety helmet (provided by Equine Village) is mandatory during rides.

5.4. Equine Village reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone whose physical condition, behaviour, or riding experience may pose a risk to themselves, others, or the animals.

6. Participation Requirements

6.1. Participants must inform us in advance of any health conditions, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect their participation.

6.2. Equine Village may refuse participation if the rider does not meet the weight, age, or experience requirements suitable for the available horses.

6.3. Failure to comply with participation requirements may result in exclusion from the activity without any right to refund or voucher.

7. Data Protection

7.1. Personal data provided will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Portuguese law.

7.2. Data will be used solely for booking management and to improve the customer experience.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

8.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.

8.2. In case of dispute, the consumer may refer to a Consumer Alternative Dispute Resolution entity, as provided by Law no. 144/2015 of 8 September.
